In September, Jocelyn and I took our dream trip to Italy. we captured thousands of images over three weeks in Rome, Venice and the mountains of the Abruzzo Region. Here are our favourites.
Our friends from Ottawa, moved to Italy and opened a villa and a tour company, Amazing Abruzzo Tours…we spend the last week in Italy exploring the central mountains of the country and the adriatic coast in our last week there.
This was taken in an alley that lead to our B&B in Venice.
The Grand Canal, Venice, bustled with activity from daybreak until well after dark.

Looking towards the Lagoon as a bright afternoon sun had the water looking emerald in colour.
Jocelyn’s hat colour co-ordinated nicely with the water
Looking down onto the Grand Canal from atop the Per Riato, Venice. I love those varnished wood clad boats.
Midday sun cast shadows over three of the primary ways to move about on the water, in Venice: Water Bus, Gondola and Private “cigarette” boats.

Colourful Burano…a short ferry day trip from Venice
Jocelyn was looking for lace in Burano! Davey was looking for colour. Neither was difficult to find!
Burano, unlike a lot of Venice now, supports a community that actually lives on the island.
PINK!
Did I mention lace?
I liked how the leaves and clothes mirrored the landscape in the houses in this one. Burano.
